Everyone has been very busy over the last couple of months with outings and activities organised by Caroline!
In early October we had the pleasure of celebrating Kit’s 104th birthday with her family and she loved her personalised chocolate cake and cards at her tea party.
We had an enjoyable Halloween with the residents who enjoyed pumpkin carving, Halloween quiz and cupcake decorating with special helper Jessie.
Swasti very kindly brought us a selection of Diwali sweets for the residents to taste and share at afternoon tea.
The residents got ready for Bonfire night with firework paintings, making tasty apples dipped with different toppings and finished with a small firework display at Oxenford with our special helper Mitch.
Oxenford House are proud supporters of the Royal British Legion and our lovely resident Mavis knitted poppy badges for the staff to wear and raise money this special charity. Caroline also decorated the lounge with our handmade aeroplanes, poppies and solider figure.
We had a sensory activity this week and made apple crumble for pudding! These apples were from Hilary’s garden at home – it was delicious and enjoyed by all.
Last week the residents had great fun competing in a game of giant snakes and ladders with assistance from Patcha – Our grand winner was Mavis!
